My Dear Child,
Surely, you have heard about Zacchaeus, the character in the Bible, who climbed a tree to see Jesus pass. The tree is called a sycamore tree, which can reach up to 30 meters in height and about 10 to 15 meters in diameter, so it is able to provide much shade. This type of tree can live for many years. Its wood is very resistant. Its leaves are dark green. The fruit can be eaten and is very similar to figs. The shape of its crown is rounded and its trunk is usually not very high. I think that’s why Zacchaeus found it easy to climb this tree, even though he was a short man. When we have a desire in our hearts to see Jesus, we will do anything in our power to be close to Him.
“And Zacchaeus wanted to see Jesus; but because he was short, he could not see over the crowd. So, he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him… When Jesus reached the spot, he looked up and said, “Zacchaeus, come down immediately. I must stay at your house today. ” Luke 19:2-5
With much love,
