During the advisory that took place from 12th to 14th January, organized by Margery Harinirina and attended by Field and Conference Women’s Ministries directors from Seychelles, la Reunion, Mahajanga, Atsiranana, South Madagascar field and the Central Madagascar field, it was resolved to adopt the Homes of Hope and Healing initiative in the Indian Ocean Union. Posters, a booklet of lessons and a DVD to help the women minister to their friends were distributed. The union has gone further to not only involve women but families too. Currently, there are 6,000 homes that have been identified.
On Sabbath, the 14th January women from all over Antananarivo gathered together and instructions were given on how to organize the Homes of Hope and Healing. Speaking to Doris Bick and Shirley Runguin of Seychelles and LaReunion fields respectively, they said, it is a good initiative which would help their communities. They pledged to go and start training their local church leaders on how they would establish the Homes of Hope and Healing.
